The users in bold are among the Top 150 users of all time. Since 10% of story’s 40 votes came from Top 150 ranked users, it seems that the weight counts more for users who already have theirown stories made popular the most. Makes sense cos the algorithm may trust the vote more of someone who is established as themselves reliable, than votes from newbie accounts.

Guys, as some one in the top 100, i will tell you that its more about time then anything else. Stories on average need about 28-34 diggs to frontpage. They seem to need less to be promoted when they are running out of time. For example, a story with 25 diggs and only 1 hour to go will most likely be promoted before one that has 40 diggs and 15 hours to go.

I think you’re stretching… Topic/time of day might have more to do with it. If anything they are trying to lower the weight of top users.
