The users in bold are among the Top 150 users of all time. Since 10% of story’s 40 votes came from Top 150 ranked users, it seems that the weight counts more for users who already have theirown stories made popular the most. Makes sense cos the algorithm may trust the vote more of someone who is established as themselves reliable, than votes from newbie accounts.

After getting only 39 Diggs, it made to the Front Page at 10:50 AM Feb 8, 2007

While at Front Page, it got raised to 67 diggs less than 5 minutes.

At 10:55 Am Feb 8, 2007 it was BURIED!

If you check the story, it will still say ‘made popular…”

So how did this story make it to the FP? I’ll list the current algorithm in my next post. It works for most stories i have checked now.
